At Asheen, rhythm lives in the stillness. Through the union of gypsum and resin—the stone and the lustre—I capture an elemental contrast: the silent weight of Ash and the radiant glow of Sheen. This playful exploration bridges the raw strength of the earth with the brilliance of the skies, bringing the outside in: the heartbeat of Icelandic wilderness within the interior landscape.

My Journey

Asheen is a dance of opposites where ash and sheen mingle. Here, captured motion enlivens silence—giving a heartbeat to objects that only appear to be at rest.

Inspired by Iceland

My journey began with a fascination for the untamed—the raw textures of the natural world, from the rugged edges of basalt to the spontaneous flow of lava. In my Reykjavík studio, I translate these opposing elements into defined forms that compel a sense of pause. By blending organic movement with textural depth, I invite you to linger over seemingly unfinished moments that unfold and animate the space.

Philosophy
